Texas Instruments Step Down Swift™ DC/DC Converter: TPS54xxx
The Texas Instruments TPS54xxx step down Swift™ DC/DC converter family provides input transient voltage protection that allows the device and the rest of your board to survive potentially damaging voltage spikes. These TI DC/DC converters retain low output voltage even with a 60V transient voltage pulse. The high-performance TI TPS54160 DC/DC converter family also provides light load efficiency, low quiescent current (ideal for applications based on TI MSP430 MCUs), a high switching frequency, and a small package size for space-limited designs. TI TPS5410 / 5420 / 5430 / 5450 DC/DC converters are a more basic version that provides ease of use, higher currents, and internal compensation.
Texas Instruments NexFET™ Power MOSFET
The Texas Instruments N-Channel NexFET™ Power MOSFET series features low on resistance coupled with extremely low gate charge,
making it ideal for high efficiency/high frequency switching converter
and Synchronous FET applications. The TI NexFET Power MOSFET combines vertical current flow with a lateral power MOSFET for a level of performance not previously possible with existing silicon platforms. The TI NexFET minimizes losses in power conversion applications and allows designers to achieve 90-percent power supply efficiencies from light to full loads with high output currents and low duty cycles.
Texas Instruments SWIFT™ DC/DC Converter: TPS54331
The Texas Instruments TPS54331 SWIFT™ DC/DC converter integrates an 80mΩ Rds(on) high side MOSFET and features a pulse-skipping Eco-mode™ for increased efficiency at light loads. The TI device's 1µA shutdown supply current allows the device to be used in battery-power applications. The TPS54331 offers a 3.5V to 28V input voltage range, adjustable output voltage down to 0.8V, and fixed 570 kHz switching frequency.
